This was something I did for a community exhibition at The Fishbowl in 2023. There are three intersecting components to this piece: 1. This wooden box I made in junior high with a lotus pattern assembled on the lid. 2. The abstract photos I took in high school for a photography competition; I got third place in the category, and a couple finalists, one of which was this [one](http://wshspc.com/2016-abstract-finalist-anand-sekar-inglemoor); I'd already experimented with reflecting the image over itself. ![[abs-f6_2016.jpg]] 3. A selection of origami lotuses I'd make daily during a deeply painful transitional period during summer of 2021. --- I'd integrated pieces I've created across multiple stages of my life into one ever-changing work: a piece of *digital origami* that overlays the photographs I'd taken over each other in the pattern of the lotus box lid, framed by the origami lotuses I'd made. It'd take at least 32 years to see all the possible permutations. ![[blooms_1.jpg]] ![[blooms_2.jpg]] ![[blooms_3.jpg]] ![](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0kuGpgvSDo)
